Pastoral Biosketch for Pastor T. DuWayne Privette
Pastor T. DuWayne Privette is a native of Los Angeles, CA. But has lived most of his life on the east coast.
Pastor Privette has attended the greatest schools of Adventist education, graduating from Pine Forge Academy (PFA) in 1990, and Oakwood College (OC) in 1995 where he received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. By June 2000 he received a Masters of Divinity degree from Andrews University Theological Seminary.
During his matriculation thru Andrews University, he met the woman he would eventually marry, a beautiful and talented woman named, Theresa McDaniels, also of Los Angeles, CA. True to the word of God (Proverbs 18:22), she is a “good thing” and blesses his life and ministry with the favor of God. It is this favor that has blessed them with two lovely, smart, talented, and God-fearing children, Azrielle [Az’- re – el] (daughter) and Jaiel [Jy’- el] (son). But, recently, they have adopted a bonus, adult daughter to the family, Lexi, who has added her own special flavor to the family.
Pastor Privette has had the privilege of serving God in the Allegheny East Conference for over 25 years…spending the bulk of his ministry serving the city of Baltimore at the Cherry Hill SDA Church, presently known as the New Beginnings SDA Church and at the Sharon Seventh-day Adventist Churches.
Presently, Pastor Privette serves as the pastor of the Calvary Seventh-day Adventist Church & School in Newport News, VA, the Area Leader for the VA Area Ministerium, represents Virginia as a member of the AEC Executive Committee, while having served the community as a member of the Faith, Justice & Community Organization, which is an organization made up of a group of citizens, clergy and police officers designed to improve relations between the police and citizens of Newport News, VA.
One thing is clear, Pastor T. DuWayne Privette loves his family, loves people, but ultimately, loves the Lord and is committed to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ based upon John 12:32
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all to me.”
